To provide the citizens of Miami County with optimum health care through education of disease prevention, control, and health maintenance. To work with our community health providers to coordinate health care and provide continuity of care for Miami County.

The role of the community health department is to provide leadership to the public health and medical communities in a coordinated effort to detect, respond to, and prevent illness. Programs administered by the health department include:
  • Women’s Health Care
  • Immunizations for all ages
  • Women, Infant, and Children (WIC)
  • Kan-Be-Healthy Screenings
  • Maternal & Child Health (formerly Healthy Start)
  • Services with Home Visitor
  • Special Health Care Needs (SHCN)
  • Chronic Disease Risk Reduction
  • Disease Investigation & Containment
  • Nurse assessments and limited labs

Schedule of Services:

Due to COVID-19 Virus, ALL SERVICES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, with the exception of our Monday COVID-19 walk-in clinics. Please call 913-294-2431 to make your appointment.

Monday

COVID-19 Vaccine Walk-In clinic from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • COVID-19 vaccines being offered: Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizier-BioNTech/COMIRNATY (Availability of vaccines are subject to supply.)
Tuesday 
Appointments are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Services available on these days:
  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Blood sugar
  • General counseling
  • Hemoglobin
  • Immunizations
  • Injections (must have a doctor’s order)
  • TB testing
  • Urinalysis

Wednesday


Appointments from 8:00 am to 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Flu Vaccine Clinic
Appointments from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Women’s Health Care
  • TB Testing

Appointments are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Upon confirmation of your appointment with Miami County Health Department at the Miami County Health Department location only, you will need to complete the COVID-19 form at DispenseAssist.net. Complete the form on the website, print the form, and bring it with you to your appointment.
