The current jail opened in 2018. 


The Miami County Jail is a 96-bed facility.


Today, the jail staff is comprised of a jail captain, five jail sergeants, twenty-one deputy jailers, one jail nurse and one part-time jail nurse.

Lobby Visitation

Currently the lobby visitation is closed until further notice.

Vistation is a privilege

Visits may be denied, suspended or terminated if,
  • The visitor is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • There is insufficient space available at the time of visit
  • The visitor provides insufficient/falsified identification or refuses to present any identification
  • The visitor's behavior is disruptive to the orderly running of the facility
  • The visitor damages county property
  • The visitor's attire does not conform to the dress code
  • Safety or security of the facility is at risk (severe weather, power loss, etc)
  • You are a part of a no contact order, protection order, or a prohibited contact witness/victim to the case
  • Inmates are allowed one (1) 20 minute visit per person per day
  • All visitors (18 years or older) must have a valid Federal or State ID Card or driver's license
  • Visitors 17 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult with valid ID
Prohibited Items:
  • Visitors are not allowed to bring any items when visiting an inmate.  All items including purses, bags, mobile phones, recording devices, writing instruments, weapons, etc are prohibited
  • No food or drinks are allowed
  • No smoking or any tobacco items
  • No pets or animals (Exception is a certified service animal/You must provide proof)
  • No packages, mail or photographs may be left for an inmate.  All items must be mailed in
Dress Code:
  • No revealing and/or see through clothing such as low cut tops, halter tops, tube tops
  • No dress/skirt/shorts above mid-thigh
  • No clothing displaying obscene or offensive behavior
  • Must wear shoes, sandals, boots or other footwear
