Elected from
five separate districts, the Board of County Commissioners is the
policy making body for all county governmental functions. The Chairman
and Chair Pro-tem are appointed yearly by the Commission members.
The Board meets
in regular session in the Commission Chambers, located on the first
floor of the Administration Building, on Wednesdays, beginning at
1:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. An informal briefing to discuss
/ clarify items being brought before the commission at that days
meeting begins at 12:00 noon and is currently held in the Commission
Conference Room located in Suite 200 on the second floor of the
Administration Building. From time to time the Board also meets
in study session that may be held before or after a regular Commission
meeting, or at a separate date and time. The purpose of a study
session is to allow adequate time for staff reports and Commission
discussion and review of specific public policies and issues. (No
decisions are rendered in informal sessions.) All meetings

The Commissioners
are in the office at other various time throughout the week. Staff
is available to assist constituents &/or take mesages during
business office hours.
