Mission Statement

The Human Resources Team, with respect, concern and an advocate of fair and equitable treatment, is committed to providing the highest quality service to the applicants, employees and elected officials we serve, by developing and implementing policies, programs and services to attract, retain and motivate a highly qualified, diverse and competent work force.

Goals and Objectives

  1. Assure County compliance with employment law.
    • Bring cohesive employment practices to County departments
    • Provide consistent and nondiscriminatory policies
    • Ensure policies and procedures are enforced properly
    • Ensure disciplinary actions are appropriate and used consistently
  2. Provide competent and respectful assistance to Miami County staff with programs to facilitate efficient and effective recruitment, retention and maintenance of the County’s work force.
    • Hiring and Staffing.
      • Assist with all phases of hiring process
      • Establish and maintain employee orientation
    • Retention and Motivation.
      • Administer the performance evaluation program
      • Communicate and administer employee benefits
      • Administer the County’s compensation program
      • Facilitate Employee Recognition Programs
      • Facilitate the Educational Assistance Program
    • Maintenance
      • Foster positive labor/management relations
      • Provide a forum for relief for employees to voice concerns and complaints
      • Help keep communication open between management and staff
      • Monitor and track all Leave Programs
      • Oversee and maintain Employee Assistance Program, Drug & Alcohol Program, FMLA Policy
      • Communicate and administer Personal Rules and Regulations
