Function:
The Procurement Division of the County Administrator’s
Office is a centralized purchasing office responsible for the procurement
of commodities and services for county departments. The primary
goal is to obtain the greatest value from each Miami County dollar
spent. The Procurement Division is an active member of the Mid-America
Council of Public Purchasing (MACPP).
Miami
County has contracted with DemandStar.Com
for the maintenance of an automated bid notification system categorized
by specific commodities and services. Vendors who subscribe to this
service are notified by fax or e-mail whenever an Invitation for
Bid or Request for Proposals for services or commodities they provide
are issued by the county. Bid documents and updates can be downloaded
from the DemandStar link. Vendors can subscribe to DemandStar at
http://www.demandstar.com
or by calling 1-800-711-1712. DemandStar also offers an Agency level
subscription option that will allow vendors to download bid documents
and transact business with any (1) agency for free. Contact DemandStar
at 1-800-711-1712 to register Miami County as your free subscription
agency.
While
Miami County is pleased to offer this program, vendors are not required
to subscribe to the DemandStar system to obtain bid documents or
to do business with Miami County. Vendors can continue to monitor
the official county newspaper, The Miami
County Republic, or contact the Procurement Agent regarding
bid opportunities.
