The Miami County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank you for your interest in our agency. We believe that our website will not only provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding our agency but give you a better understanding of how the sheriff’s office serves and protects the residents of Miami County.
Duties
As the chief law enforcement officer in the county, the sheriff is required by state law to perform four specific duties, including:
- Serving civil and criminal process papers
- Keeping the peace
- Providing protection for county residents
- Keeping those behind bars secure
Personnel
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office employs 80 personnel which includes; one Sheriff, one Undersheriff, two Captains, one Executive Assistant, eleven Sergeants, twenty-eight Deputy Sheriff's, eleven Deputy Jailers, one Dispatch Supervisor, eleven Dispatchers, two Records Clerks, one Registered Nurse, one Custodian, one Emergency Management Coordinator, six part time Deputy Sheriff's, one part time Maintenance, one part time Licensed Practical Nurse and one part time Information Technology.
